I can't keep Destiny. She is to strong for me and heavy. I should have realized that, but I wanted a dog so bad. Hopefully someone will come and take her. Huh. Sucks.

I have decided not to get any pets at least for awhile. The pain unreal. I could not work in that kind of job.

She drug me across the yard and then e wlmost got hit on the highway

Awwww I'm sorry. Maybe when you're ready you can find an older, docile dog who needs a home. I hope Destiny can find another home, she's so adorable.

Aww im sure Destiny will find a good home, as with her name she is Destined too, you gave her temporary home and a second chance, im sure you will find the right dog for you and she will find the right home too. But for now im sure you are both enjoying each others company.

Hope Destiny can find a home with kids to play with. She is such a sweetheart. Wish I could take her. Do consider getting another dog, perhaps an older animal, or a lap dog.

Wise of you to recognize those things, rather than pretending everything is fine. You'll find the perfect companion, in the perfect time. That's how my kitty Mishoo came to me after my precious weenie kitty Yankee passed on. It took me years but it was worth the wait and the healing.

Awww, sorry to hear. Hope things work out. Will a change in leash (as suggested by TechZilla) help?

Might I suggest that you call the shelter and tell them you can't keep Destiny? Chances are, they will take her back. Perhaps you could ask someone to go to your home and pick her up so you don't have to take her out in a car. Seems to me since you're a senior, someone should be willing to pick her up for you.

If you are ever ready for a pet again, perhaps a small dog, around 10-15 pounds would probably be good, such as a 'Benji' type dog or a terrier.

I'm so sorry you couldn't keep her. That must have been very hard.

Do any of those leash links sound like they'd help?
But I know it can be a problem- my brother-in-law is elderly and had the same problem.
